SxS similar to what you describe for sale in a fine gun shop for about $2K a while back.I just purchased a ' Made in Spain " double barrel 12 gauge shotgun. But I don't think that's what you've bought. Some Spanish guns have been imported that were really cheap, too, such as the "Pride of Spain" that the unfornate purchasers call the "POS". Some of the Spanish guns are as good as it gets. I would recommend you read up on this gun - especially if you are thinking about selling it. It's in print, so you can get it from Barnes & Noble. I haven't read it myself, but people who are into Spanish guns say it's great. There is a book out called "Spanish Best" by, I think, Terry Wieland that should tell you a great deal about your gun. Does it have the high-combed stock you usually see on a trap gun? Since your gun is so heavy, I'd bet anything it was marketed as a trap gun. Biggest shoot in the world, imagine a line of shooters a mile long. Vandalia, Ohio was the location of the Grand American trap shooting for a long time, until about a year ago. The forearm has 3 diamond shaped silver inlays with engraving. There are silver buttons on the bottom of the stock. The stock and forearm are walnut and are also patterned / engraved in the wood. There is a name of Zephyr Vandalia engraved in the silver which may be the engraver or the model.Īround the stock is a 1/2 inch silver ring above the kick plate. The trigger guard is also engraved, however not in silver. It weighs 9 lbs!Īs for the engraving, it is silver and fully engraved on the side plates, metal plate under the receiver, and by the safety on top. It is marked Stoeger Arms Corporation NY.
